50 Lemons

Here is the deal. We all need to excersie our brain from time to time. We pride ourselves on being creative, and we can't always do so. We get stuck in ruts, or our clients just don't want it. We all need to break out from time to time and do our own thing. Of course, doing your own thing usually gets you nowhere. You just don't know where to start. Well, here is a start. It's also going to be the place for you to show your work to our world. I say ours, cause this isn't a place for the masses. It's a place for the people who matter most, fellow designers. Get goofy, get serious, get it, don't get it. Just think lemon. There are just a few guidelines for you to follow — don't worry, they won't affect your creativity.

To the lemons!

The assignment
Come up with 50 different lemon drawings/photos/engravings/whatever your mind comes up with. You're the artist. You figure out how to express yourself in "lemon".

The rules
First and foremost - any renderings you come up with are your own. Even if they get shown here, I do not, nor do I want to claim any ownership what-so-ever. You made them, you protect them. That's fair, right?

The only rule to the creative part - the canvas should be square, like the squares above. That's it. The other guidelines will apply only to showing your work here, to make my life easier.

I would like for you to showcase your work here, as a central hub. This way it's easier for everybody to see everybody else's work.

I've provided a sample page here.

The images should be 273px by 273px at 72 dpi. They should be numbered like 01.gif, 02.gif, 03.gif, etc... This will make it easier for whoever builds the page, whether it's me or you. It'll use the sample page template. Also, you should optimize your pics.

If you would like me to host your pics as well as your html file, I'll gladly do so. If you're not comfortable with me hosting your pics, then I'll just host the html. This way it'll be consistent with the navigation.

Your name/logo/tag/moniker WILL be on the page with your lemons plus a link to your site and any other contact info you wish to provide. Again, it's your work, you get the credit.

If you have any questions, I'll answer them. Just shoot me an email: dan@dan-nyc.com

When I get questions from you all, I'll do a FAQ. I'm not doing one now cause I have no idea what it should include right now.
